BRMC Chittoor Mission Trip Report

8:30am Upper Room Service (Charismatic)

upper room service
“Pass through, pass through the gates! Prepare the way for the people. Build up, build up the highway! Remove the stones. Raise a banner for the nations.” Isaiah 62v10
“Raise a banner on a bare hilltop, shout to them; beckon to them to enter the gates of the nobles. I have commanded my holy ones; I have summoned my warriors to carry out my wrath – those who rejoice in my triumph.” Isaiah 13v2-3

On 25th March 2007, BRMC launched her Charismatic style of worship service. This worship service is known as “Upper Room (Charismatic) Service”. The service is one where the practice of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is encouraged for the edification and building up of the Body of Christ.

Apart from the Preaching of the Word, Praise & Worship, the order of service includes elements of congregational simultaneous praying as well as a time of silence and waiting to watch the Lord as a congregation (1 Corinthians 14:26). Both the time of loud simultaneous praying and keeping quiet before God to receive a fresh word (both personally and congregationally) are unique experiences of the members attending Upper Room Service. There will always be a time of altar ministry after each service.

Some of the reflections of the URS members:
“URS is a cozy and warm service where I can feel God’s strong presence during the worship, prayer and the Word. The word or scripture released by URS members edifies the body and I leave the service feeling very blessed and refreshed by the Lord. I thank God for what He is doing in the URS and I am excited to see more souls saved, hearts transformed and healed by the power of the God”
“The uniqueness of the URS is the free expression of worshippers in praise and worship and exercising of spiritual gifts. At times, the presence of God is very strongly felt by the congregation. Surely, the Lord is working in this service!”
“The URS is like a big magnet. It is so powerful it attacts us to church every Sunday without fail! It is so powerful it overwhelms us with the Holy Spirit during the service! And its so powerful it draws us closer to Jesus Christ every day! Praise be to God indeed!!

“Do not worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks” Philippians 4:6

“Father, I come as your child in need of your grace and mercy. I confess my sins and acknowledge my need. As I receive your forgiveness, so I forgive everyone who has offended me.
[At this point, verbalise this for every person you choose to forgive. “I choose to forgive you, …………, for …………”].
Now I stand on the promises of your Word.
Satan, I refuse to accept this disease in my body. In Jesus’ name, I command this affliction to flee. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. I will not tolerate this attack of the enemy against my body. Disease has no right or authority to exist in my body, the temple of the Holy Spirit. I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done. I have been healed by the stripes, by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ Name, I rebuke this sickness.” Amen.

May we invite you to share your testimony of how Jesus has touched you or responded to your prayers, with the Body of Christ to encourage one another, point the way to our Lord God, and ascribe to Him, all glory, honour and praise on heaven and earth. “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony” Rev 12:11. Kindly email ursbarker@gmail.com as soon as possible.
