Monthly 24 Hour Prayer Watch

The 24 hour Prayer Watch is a time of watching the Lord on behalf of the church and it is also an opportunity for all BRMC ministries to pray and intercede for the church as a corporate body. Besides the active members from the Prayer Ministry, various ministries like Discipleship & Nurture (i.e Growing Deep in Christ, Companions in Christ groups), Creative Arts(Scriptures In Dance), Mandarin Service Committee, Social Concerns Committee, Shine Forth Service Prayer Team, Upper Room Service Committee, WSCS and Witness & Evangelism are also active participants of the monthly 24-hour Prayer Watches.


The Watch is made up of 12 sequential 2-hour Watches. Each 2-hour Watch is made up of a maximum of 5 persons led by a Watch Leader. During the Watch, the group spends time watching the Lord using the following elements as a guide:

• Watch the Lord
• Watch the Word
• Watch in Intercession
• Watch His Return

Each of these 4 components of the watch has a special spiritual significance:

1. Watching the Lord
Instead of bringing our needs and requests first, this is all about ministering to the Lord in thanksgiving, praise and worship through sharing of songs, prayers, bible passages that extol Him or even silence in rapt adoration.

2. Watching the Word
Listening intently to what the Lord wants to say to the group through Bible verses or passages or even a word or an impression in your mind.  Release it to the group for a response

3. Watching in Intercession
From what the Lord is saying, begin to cry out for what is on God’s heart and begin to pray authoritatively i.e. speak forth and declare His Word and claim His promises.

4. Watching His Return
What is the Lord saying to us to prepare for His Return?Jesus desires to return for His bride – the church. Close the watch with the last recorded prayer in the bible Rev 22:17 “The Spirit and the bride say, `Come!’ … ” welcoming the bridegroom King with praises and worship.

Time: 10pm, Friday to 10pm, Saturday
