We recognize that human sexuality is a gift of God. Sexual intercourse is a sacred experience only when it is accompanied by the love and fidelity of holy matrimony. We believe that sexual intercourse outside the bonds of matrimony is contrary to the will of God. |

We consider the practice of homosexuality to be incompatible with Christian teachings. However, we do recognize that homosexual persons are individuals of sacred worth. They need the ministry and guidance of the Church as well as the spiritual and emotional support of a caring fellowship. |

We believe that individuals who are confused about their sexual identity need the healing and transforming power of God's grace rather than sex-change operations. |

The Diaconal Ministry |

Since the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching, self-avowed practicing homosexuals are not to be accepted as candidates, ordained as diaconal ministers or approved to serve in The Methodist Church in Singapore. |

Every diaconal minister of The Methodist Church in Singapore shall accept that the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teachings. |
