SUMMARY:Ordinary Time After Epiphany
DESCRIPTION:WHAT IS IT?\nOrdinary Time refers to the time between the two cycles of Advent-Christmas-Epiphany and Lent-Easter-Pentecost. They are marked as “After Epiphany” and “After Pentecost” respectively. \nWHY DO WE CELEBRATE IT?\nOrdinary Time itself has no central theme\, but Scripture readings during After Epiphany emphasise the growth of the Kingdom of God through the life and ministry of Jesus – an extension to the Epiphany theme of “revealing” Jesus to the world. \nNOTHING ORDINARY ABOUT ORDINARY TIME\n“Ordinary” comes from the word “ordinal”\, referring to how the weeks are counted in order (e.g.\, 1st Sunday After Epiphany\, 2nd Sunday After Epiphany\, and so on). \nWHAT DO WE DO?\nThe season is punctuated by special holy days (the source of the word “holiday”) such as Transfiguration Sunday. Other days significant to the congregation\, such as ACS Sunday\, are also observed. \nGreen is used to signify growth and life. \nSermons tend to focus on Jesus’ call for us to follow him as disciples. \nBOOKENDING THE ORDINARY\nBoth blocks of ordinary time keep our focus on the life and ministry of Jesus. The early weeks of After Epiphany continue the trajectory of the three strands of the Epiphany of Jesus\, in particular his baptism\, and the wedding at Cana. The first Sunday of After Epiphany is thus observed as “The Sunday of the Baptism of our Lord”. DESCRIPTION:Join us for weekly pickleball sessions for a time of inter-generational bonding with our church family! \nWhether you’re a seasoned player or a complete beginner\, everyone is welcome—children\, youth\, adults\, and seniors alike. We’ll teach newcomers the game\, and equipment (paddles\, balls\, and nets) will be provided. \n🧒 Free for children 12 and under\, & seniors 55 and over💵 $4 per session for all others (payable via QR code at the entrance)👟 Sports attire with non-marking court shoes required🚫 No food in the Auditorium. Bring your own water/drinks \nParticipation is only open to BRMC members. \nVolunteer with us! \n\n\nWe need committed volunteers to help set up and return all equipment at the end of each session.  If we can get 12 volunteers\, we will roster 2 volunteers per session.  Commitment will then be once every 6 weeks. \nWhatsApp Chat Group\nAll participants will be placed in a BRMC Pickleball WhatsApp group for ease of communication.\n\n\nRegister your interest
