SUMMARY:Season of Easter
DESCRIPTION:WHAT IS IT?\nWe celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. The most important moment in the Christian calendar\, and the first liturgical celebration enacted. The Christian calendar radiates from this centre\, and every Sunday from the Resurrection onwards is celebrated as a “Little Easter”. Easter Sunday concludes the three-day long liturgy of the Easter Triduum. \nWHY DO WE CELEBRATE IT?\nWe rejoice that Jesus has conquered death\, and reality has been irrevocably transformed into a post-resurrection reality. Life will never be the same again\, and we are now an Easter people who share in the new life Jesus gives. \nCALCULATING EASTER\nEaster is calculated with reference to the Hebrew Passover\, since that is when Jesus was crucified. The Passover itself is a moving date based on the lunar calendar; the date of Easter thus varies each year. \nWHAT DO WE DO?\nWe greet one another with the acclamation “Alleluia! Christ is risen! He is risen indeed\, alleluia!”. We keep an Easter Vigil the night before\, reflecting on God’s saving work in Christ. \nWhite is used as a symbol of joy. \nWe begin the day with a sunrise service. \nBaptisms are often conducted. \nHEBREW AND PAGAN SOURCES\nChristians often present new meanings to cultural practices\, Easter is a word that comes from the pagan spring festival Oestre. Pasch\, a term referring to both the Hebrew Passover festival (Pesach) and Passover lamb took on Christian nuances to refer to the Resurrection and the true Passover Lamb. \nREFERENCES \nLathrop\, Gordon. DESCRIPTION:Join us for weekly pickleball sessions for a time of inter-generational bonding with our church family! \nWhether you’re a seasoned player or a complete beginner\, everyone is welcome—children\, youth\, adults\, and seniors alike. We’ll teach newcomers the game\, and equipment (paddles\, balls\, and nets) will be provided. \n🧒 Free for children 12 and under\, & seniors 55 and over💵 $4 per session for all others (payable via QR code at the entrance)👟 Sports attire with non-marking court shoes required🚫 No food in the Auditorium. Bring your own water/drinks \nParticipation is only open to BRMC members. \nVolunteer with us! \n\n\nWe need committed volunteers to help set up and return all equipment at the end of each session.  If we can get 12 volunteers\, we will roster 2 volunteers per session.  Commitment will then be once every 6 weeks. \nWhatsApp Chat Group\nAll participants will be placed in a BRMC Pickleball WhatsApp group for ease of communication.\n\n\nRegister your interest
