SUMMARY:CONNECT - Volunteer Training for Dementia Care (Session #1/4)
DESCRIPTION:Singapore’s population is ageing and we are set to become a “super-aged” society by 2026. More families within our church community will need to care for loved ones who suffer from slowing cognition\, especially dementia. The church is called to build to build up these families in love (Ephesians 4:16). \nWe have invited Caregivers Alliance Limited in partnership with Seniors Ministry to tailor a training program to equip those whom God has called for this work of empathetic encouragement to others. This program will provide them with the tools and handles to encourage those facing dementia or those who are family and non-family caregivers. \nThis training is segmented into 4 sessions with the participants being trained in the following areas: \nSession 1: Introduction and Basic Dementia Knowledge\nSession 2: Empathy and Caregiver Support\nSession 3: Empathy and Engagement with Care Recipients with Dementia\nSession 4: Self-Care and Community Resources \nCertificates of participation will be awarded to participants upon completion to recognize the volunteer’s knowledge and skills. \nDate: Saturday 8\, 15\, 22 Feb\, 1 Mar\nTime: 9.30am to 12pm\nLocation: L2 Meeting and Training Room\nCost:\n$80: Non-subsidised\n$40: Subsidised \nFor persons interested to attend the training but require financial assistance or any enquiries\, please contact Chong Tian at 9880 9355 or email <chongtian.chang@brmc.org.sg> \nLunch will be provided for participants after each session \nSign up now \nGet in touch \n\nThe CONNECT Seniors Ministry meets regularly to G.R.O.W. – Graciously Ripen\, Overflowing with Wisdom from Above. \nJoin us and embrace the joy of growth\, wisdom\, and community.
