If you’ve ever wanted to read the Old Testament but have asked, “Where do I begin?” this four-week course is for you! If you’re familiar with the Old Testament but are looking for new ways to read it, this program is for you, too!
Dr Daniel Hawk will take us on a journey into the Old Testament through these Gateways in 4 Zoom sessions:
| Part 1 | The Gateway of the Storytellers, who draw us into the drama of God’s saving work in the world. |
| Part 2 | The Gateway of the Priests, who teach us how to be a worshiping people. |
| Part 3 | The Gateway of the Prophets, who call us to align our vision with God’s vision. |
| Part 4 | The Gateway of the Sages, admonish us that good character brings a good life. |

September 1: The Storytellers
Biblical narrators don’t just tell stories. They shape their stories to reveal truths about God, ourselves, and our world. This class will begin with some tips for reading the Old Testament. Then we’ll look at stories from Genesis and at the ways narrators help us understand the meanings of the stories they tell.
